Field research was carried out to study the need of circuit breaker mechanism on a low voltage distribution system. Data and information were collected from Sabah Electricity Sdn. Bhd. (SESB) focusing on low voltage interruption, cost due to breakdown and power distribution reliability. The field research also collect data on equipment parameter at a secondary distribution substation for PSCAD simulation.
