Power system protection scheme is important to keep the power system stable by means of a protective devices. Automatic Circuit Breaker (ACB) is such device which replace fuse protection system in a low voltage distribution substation. It has the ability to automatically open and reclosed electric flow by single phase tripping. This microcontroller-based circuit breaker can be integrated into a substation feeder pillar used by the power utility company.
No devices such as the ACB has been developed especially for protection on the low voltage side of a distribution system. It has the opportunity to be patented and commercialized. This innovation will not only benefit the power utility company but also to the public who uses electricity in their daily life.
